Fernando Meirelles recent Oscar nom'd movie 'The Constant Gardener' was a great film, but his first breakthrough film was stunning and beautiful and tragic, among other things.'City of God' was on television last nite. I saw it in the theatre way back when and decided not to watch it again, but I was reminded of how powerful a film it is.
